Our Technology

Our Technology

Smile Pro Dental is proud to use some of the most recent and advanced dental technology to aid in providing you with the dental care you need and deserve. Here we will detail some of the technology we use here at our office and how it works to make your experience better.

Intraoral Camera

An intraoral camera is a tool that dentists use to see inside a patient’s mouth in real-time. These can be used to check for issues in the mouth during an examination, such as lesions, ulcers, spots, plaque, and debris, among other things. This makes it easier for the dentist to identify potential issues that may go unnoticed by a standard exam.

Additionally, this camera can educate patients on what happens inside the mouth, including what good oral hygiene looks like and the consequences of poor oral health habits.

Digital X-Ray

Digital x-rays are different from your standard x-ray photos. They can be taken via computer and have higher image quality and the ability to be enhanced to check for specific problems.

Digital x-rays can show more of the mouth with better quality than traditional x-ray and allow dentists to observe and inspect areas that are otherwise hard to see or reach with much more ease.

These are just a few of the technology we use here at Smile Pro Dental to make your visit and dental care the best they can be.

Axeos

Axeos is a type of imaging technology. The Axeos Dentsply Sirona imaging machine is a 2D and 3D extraoral scanner that provides high-quality, detailed images of the patient’s mouth. Unlike a standard x-ray system that captures one flat image at a time, the Axeos cbct system uses a cone beam x-ray that rotates around the patient’s mouth to collect images from various angles. This x-ray rotation provides a better image map of the oral surfaces and parts of the patient’s mouth that require examination.

The benefit of this type of system is that it is not only faster and less invasive than traditional x-rays but also creates images that can be computer enhanced and have more details and definition, leading to more effective treatment and diagnosis from doctors. This improves the quality of care and the overall dental visit experience for the patient.

iTero

iTero is a type of digital scanner. Dental iTero technology refers to the iTero 3D dental scanner used to get incredibly detailed images of a patient’s mouth without having to take dozens of separate x-rays or messy dental impressions to create teeth aligners and other applications. ITero in orthodontics has become quite common thanks to the computer-assisted imaging that it can produce in a fraction of the time or effort that traditional impressions and x-rays take.

Besides saving time, iTero digital scanners save patients a lot of stress and anxiety. The dental impression-making process is messy and incredibly invasive for the patient, leaving many to be put off by the taste of the material placed in their mouths to collect the impression. Another benefit is that dentists can enhance the image via a connection to a computer to improve quality.

CEREC

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, or CEramic REConstruction, and is a type of dental technology that allows dentists to construct a crow align-items-centern for a damaged tooth using computer-aided design and imaging technology. A CEREC crow align-items-centern is typically done at a specialized CEREC dentistry by professionals who know how to create a one-day crow align-items-centern.

Through the use of the CEREC cad and cam technology, your dentist can obtain the imaging needed to create the crow align-items-centern without the need for invasive and messy impressions. Furthermore, the process is many times faster, and with computer-assisted imaging, dentists can get the information they need and use it to create a more custom-fitted crow align-items-centern for your tooth. This means you can get a new crow align-items-centern in only a day.
